Acre Resort Wedding: Everything You Need to Know

June 30, 2026

I have been planning weddings in Los Cabos since 2004, and there are very few venues where I can predict exactly what my couples will say the moment they arrive. Acre is one of them.

Every single time, guests step out of the van, look around, and say the same thing:

“Wow! What a beautiful place.”

And they mean it.

Because Acre is one of those places where the setting does something to you before the celebration even begins. It is sophisticated and natural at the same time: lush, harmonious, completely unexpected. You are surrounded by nature, yet nothing feels rustic or unfinished. The architecture, the landscaping, the food, the service… everything works together beautifully for an Acre Resort Wedding.

That harmony is exactly what makes it so special.

I have been planning weddings at Acre since its early years as a venue, and one of the things I appreciate most is how thoughtfully the property has evolved. I have watched it grow and expand while staying true to the vision that made it special from the beginning. Every addition feels connected to the original concept. Nothing feels forced or out of place.

As a wedding planner, I also appreciate that Acre genuinely embraces weddings and special celebrations as an important part of their work. The team understands the wedding industry, understands the amount of coordination required behind the scenes, and has created a property that works beautifully for both couples and guests.

Why Acre Is One of the Best Wedding Venues in Los Cabos

Acre Resort San Jose del Cabo opened in 2015 as a restaurant and bar set on a 25-acre piece of farmland in the foothills of San José del Cabo.

What started as a restaurant has grown into one of the most talked-about boutique resorts in Mexico: a treehouse hotel, an organic farm, a Michelin Green Star-awarded restaurant, a wedding venue, and one of the most distinctive properties in San Jose del Cabo.

The design language is modern and understated: polished concrete, hand-painted artisan tiles, handwoven textiles, and open-air spaces. Nothing feels overbuilt. The architecture respects the land it sits on rather than competing with it.

The food deserves its own mention.

Acre’s culinary team works with fresh ingredients sourced largely from the farm on the property itself. The presentations are sophisticated and creative, the cocktails are excellent, and the dining experience is one of the reasons so many couples fall in love with the venue.

Guests often tell me afterward that the food was one of the highlights of their entire weekend in Los Cabos. Part of that comes from the quality of the ingredients, and part from the way Acre approaches hospitality: family-style dining naturally brings everyone together, because some of the most memorable moments of a wedding happen around a table.

What I also love is that the culinary experience can extend beyond dinner itself. Oyster bars, tequila or mezcal tastings, artisanal paletas, churro carts, and late-night bites can all become part of the celebration.

And then there is something I never forget to mention, because guests always love it.

Acre has an animal sanctuary on the property. Rescued dogs that roam freely and greet you on the paths. Donkeys. Goats. Peacocks.

Two Venues, Two Completely Different Experiences

Acre offers two main wedding spaces, and I want to be clear: they are not just different sizes of the same thing.

They have completely different personalities.

Choosing between them is really about understanding who you are as a couple and how you want your wedding to feel.

The Mango Orchard

This is Acre’s original space, and it has a magic that is difficult to put into words until you have experienced it in person.

The Mango Orchard is lush and tropical. It’s a spacious courtyard surrounded by mature mango trees and palms, with a hand-painted artisan-tile floor that adds character and warmth.

As the evening progresses, the string lights overhead begin to glow, transforming the space into something warm, intimate, and incredibly inviting.

The adjacent Jungle Pool area serves as a beautiful cocktail backdrop, while the Peacock Lawn is the natural ceremony setting: green, open, and surrounded by the lush landscape of the property.

If you want your wedding to feel like a celebration unfolding in the middle of a tropical garden, this is the space for you.

One thing I always tell my couples: the main bar for the Mango Orchard is located near the pool area. If your dinner and dancing are taking place in the Orchard, I strongly recommend adding a dedicated bar within the reception space itself.

Without it, guests naturally split between two areas.

You want everyone together, enjoying the same atmosphere, sharing the same energy, and filling the dance floor.

It may seem minor, but in practice it helps keep the energy together and the celebration feeling connected throughout the night.

Los Agaves

Los Agaves is Acre’s newer venue, and it has quickly become one of my favorite wedding spaces in Los Cabos.

Where the Mango Orchard feels tropical and abundant, Los Agaves feels rooted in Baja itself.

The landscape is filled with towering agaves, cacti, and native vegetation. The palette is sandy and neutral. The architecture is more structured and architectural, yet the surrounding nature is so striking that the space never feels cold.

There is a terraced entrance leading down to a circular courtyard framed by floral columns.

The bridal suite sits at the top of the hill with panoramic views of the valley, and the entrance down the winding staircase is one of the most dramatic arrival moments I have experienced at any venue in Los Cabos.

Los Agaves is also completely self-contained, with its own entrance, kitchen, bar, restrooms, and lounge spaces.

Guests arrive and remain immersed in the experience from beginning to end.

In my experience, couples who are drawn to Baja’s desert beauty, clean lines, and architectural spaces tend to fall in love with Los Agaves immediately.

Acre for Micro Weddings and Intimate Celebrations

This is something I love talking about because Acre is genuinely one of the best properties in Los Cabos for couples who want an intimate wedding while still feeling elevated and special.

For smaller celebrations, Acre offers a collection of private spaces that can be combined in different ways depending on your guest count and vision.

A ceremony on the Lover’s Lawn followed by cocktails in the Mezcal Lounge and dinner in the Blue Room, for example.

Or a completely different flow depending on the experience you want to create.

Some of my favorite spaces for intimate celebrations include:

The Lover’s Lawn: a romantic garden ceremony space for intimate weddings and elopements.

The Blue Room: tucked into the jungle and surrounded by palms and agaves, perfect for long dinners and relaxed celebrations.

The Rooftop Terrace: located above the Cocktail Bar with its own dedicated bar and beautiful views over the property.

The Mezcal Lounge: ideal for cocktail hour or intimate gatherings before dinner.

The Jungle Table: one of the most unique dining experiences on the property, surrounded by lush greenery and designed for very intimate groups.

The Citrus Garden: charming, airy, and perfect for a private dinner tucked within the gardens.

The right combination depends on your guest count, priorities, and the type of atmosphere you want to create.

This is exactly the kind of decision I work through together with my couples because getting it right makes all the difference.

What to Know Before You Book

A few things I always share with couples who are considering Acre:

Most Event Spaces Are Open-Air, Including the Main Wedding Venues

That is part of what makes Acre so beautiful. The connection to the landscape, the natural light, and the feeling of being surrounded by nature are central to the experience.

One exception is the Rooftop Terrace, which is a covered space that provides shade and protection from the elements while still maintaining the property’s open-air atmosphere and beautiful views.

Even with that added coverage, guests still enjoy the same sense of immersion in the surroundings that defines the Acre experience.

Outside Vendors Are Welcome

As a planner, this is something I genuinely appreciate.

Acre allows couples to bring in their preferred photographers, florists, entertainment teams, musicians, and production companies without additional vendor fees.

That flexibility allows every wedding to feel personal rather than predetermined.

Transportation Should Be Discussed Early

Because of the property’s access road, large motor coaches cannot enter Acre. Transportation is typically arranged using smaller vehicles such as vans, Sprinters, or Suburbans.

Acre Requires an External Wedding Planner, and This Is Where My Work Begins

Acre requires couples to hire an external wedding planner for their wedding day.

A wedding at Acre involves multiple event spaces, vendor teams, guest transportation, and a carefully coordinated timeline. Having a planner who knows the property well ensures that every detail is managed seamlessly behind the scenes, allowing you to relax, be present, and fully enjoy the celebration with your guests.

This is exactly the work I do at Momentos. If you want to know more about what a wedding planner brings to a destination wedding, I wrote about it here: Venue Wedding Coordinator vs. Wedding Planner: Why You Need Both (and Why They’re Not the Same)

Real Weddings at Acre by Momentos

Since 2004, I have planned weddings and celebrations throughout Los Cabos, and Acre remains one of the venues that consistently creates unforgettable experiences for both couples and their guests.

One of our most recent celebrations was Bella and Mitch’s wedding weekend, which held three events across Acre and Hotel Corazón Cabo.

From the moment their guests arrived at Acre and discovered the property’s lush surroundings, there was a sense of excitement that carried through the entire evening. Cocktails among the gardens, dinner beneath the canopy of mango trees, and late-night treats shared on the dance floor became part of an experience that felt both elevated and deeply personal.

What made their celebration unforgettable was not a single décor element or design detail. It was the way every decision reflected who they are as a couple.

That is what makes the most memorable celebrations. The venue provides an extraordinary backdrop, but it is the thoughtful personalization of each detail that transforms a beautiful setting into an experience guests will remember for years to come.
