Mexico is an amazing destination to design love stories and make them come true. Aimee and Zach’s wedding became a dose of inspiration, with vibrant colors everywhere, and a dreamy aesthetic to create the best day. All the details of this Mexican-inspired wedding were lovely and their I DO became a great experience that we will never forget.
The Love Story
“Zach and I have been together for eight years! We met at a local bar that I was bartending at, and I instantly knew he was my forever person. It wasn’t smooth sailing in the beginning as we were both in different chapters of our lives. He was busy building his company, and I was finishing up college, so we had a few hiccups before doing official things. We took some time apart but talked every day. The “break” was nothing because we were surprised to find out I was expecting our daughter Keller. She has been the best “oops” ever, and she also made us realize that we were meant to be” Aimee told us.
Zach proposed to her in Las Vegas, right in her hotel room, after having dinner at their favorite restaurant. How romantic!
For their destination wedding, they both chose Los Cabos because of the love they have for Mexico. They wanted their family and friends to enjoy it as much as they did!
The Planning of this vibrant Mexican-inspired wedding
We designed this Mexican-inspired wedding in just 6 months. It was an incredible challenge because of its many details and its particular aesthetic.
The inspiration was based on the vibrant colors of Mexico, its cuisine, and the country’s music. From the beginning we wanted the wedding to follow the rustic style with a contemporary touch following the latest floral design trends and the tables in the cocktail area.
Aimee and Zach’s priorities were food, good music, beautiful decor, and having a good time with their guests. We took all the details important to them and transformed them into a vibrant celebration, full of good vibes and a harmonious atmosphere that made us sigh and smile millions of times.
The process
This destination wedding in Los Cabos had to have a wow factor from the beginning, that’s why we chose a color scheme in which pink, yellow, and orange stood out as the main protagonists of the design.
The ceremony altar was simply spectacular. The roses stood out in the distance to frame one of the most beautiful moments of this couple. In addition, fun happenings could not be missing from the equation: we created an area for children with personalized place cards, maracas for guests, the beer donkey as a photo opportunity, and mariachi music to emphasize the inspiration in Mexico.
Without a doubt, our favorite part was the wedding design. We love that the couple can discover themselves in every detail and create custom-made atmospheres for them that completely exceed their expectations. Aimee and Zach are very friendly and fun, so we knew the colors and music were going to completely reflect their personalities.
The Wedding Day
Aimee and Zach got married in El Huerto, a farm-to-table restaurant located in Cabo San Lucas. We made the selection of the venue thinking about what they both wanted for their wedding: enjoy the big day in a natural location, accompanied by delicious food and with a flexible schedule to extend the party. This space did everything and turned out to be simply the best.

During the big day, one of our favorite moments was the ceremony recessional. Aimee and Zach went out along with her 3-year-old daughter, who couldn’t help but run to find them so they could go out together. It was beautiful!
During the cocktail, guests enjoyed margaritas, appetizers such as spring rolls, fritters, tuna and jicama taquitos, and steak skewers with pesto. The signature drinks were: “Tall and Handsome” inspired by Zach (Jack’s Mule) and “Blushing Bride” inspired by Aimee (Ruby Sunset).
For the reception, the appetizers were: roasted tomato and mezcal gazpacho, Sweet pea Guacamole and crispy vegetable chips, Catch of the day Ceviche: avocado, cucumber, serrano sauce, and El Huerto’s Salad: Organic mix of lettuce, smoked bacon, tomatoes, roasted lemon vinaigrette.
As main course: Catch of the Day accompanied with Romesco sauce, roasted squash, sweet radish salad, Roasted Suckling Pig accompanied with Pumpkin purée, rainbow chard, Organic grilled Chicken with herb pesto accompanied with seasonal vegetables, Grilled Beef Filet accompanied with mashed potatoes and roasted onion, and a vegetarian option: Cauliflower Tikka Masala accompanied with pilaf rice with turmeric and zucchinis.
As a late snack, everyone enjoyed a delicious selection of pizzas. Yummy!
All the details of this Mexican-inspired destination wedding reminded us why we love designing such special days and destination weddings in one of the most inspiring places in Mexico. Aimee and Zach, thank you for making us part of such a special and meaningful day!
