It’s not every day that I have a couple lace their magical Cabo San Lucas destination wedding with Mexican elements, but Kip and Audrie’s unique vision made Mexican traditions come to life in the most wonderful way.

A colorful rehearsal dinner at Captain Tony’s set the colorful wedding theme inspired by La Loteria, a game similar to bingo, and the Día de Los Muertos, a holiday that celebrates the lives of the loved ones who have passed away. In love with Mexican tradition, Audrey greeted friends and family with unique welcome bags filled with hand-made tortilla makers, Mexican candy, sunblock and other Cabo must-needs. Tables adorned with rich flowers in Mexican product cans, mini donkey piñatas, dangling picado paper flowers, a beautiful La Loteria sign with the words ‘bride and groom,’ and the Pura Vida band gave guests a snippet of the brilliant celebrations to come.

Kip and Audrey’s wedding was done in elegant white, contrasted with the light-blue of the Cabo sky – the perfect start to an even more wonderful day. Right after, family and friends of the couple were greeted with tables full of colorful flowers, different Loteria cards, and little match-boxes filled with delicious Mexican candy for the reception. We customized the hand-painted maracas and traditional picado paper for the ‘novios’. A beautifully decorated Día de Los Muertos altar lined with photos of loved ones made this evening all the more special, as they were remembered in spirit and in the love that could be felt that day. I will never forget everyone’s happiness as everyone smiled, danced and celebrated until the end of the day.

I was honored to see the beautiful patterns of my country, but even more happy to be able to make these magical and unforgettable memories with the amazing newlyweds. It was truly an enchanting day!

With love,

Fatima, Cabo San Lucas Wedding Planner
