Every love story is a reason to create truly unexpected celebrations. That’s exactly what we did with Elizabeth and Michael, a charming couple with an incredible sense of aesthetics and a desire to celebrate an intimate wedding inspired by Mexico, its traditions, culture, and vibrant colors. Their “I DO” revolved around the details, creating the perfect atmosphere for an unforgettable day.
The Love Story
Michael proposed under a beautiful oak tree in a nature reserve near their home —where they often hiked together. The tree held deep symbolism for the couple: its dry branches represented the pain of their past, while its green, thriving canopy symbolized hope and the blending of their families.
Cabo was the natural choice for their wedding, as the couple is building their dream home there. It was a celebration not just of their love but also of their second home. We knew this wedding would be truly special when we heard their story.
Planning a Micro-Wedding
This wedding had to be magical from start to finish. Elizabeth and Michael’s priorities for their micro-wedding revolved around exceptional food, delicious drinks, stunning table styling, and an atmosphere that would create a meaningful, exciting, and memorable celebration for their family.
Planning is always an exciting process, especially when we get to know the couple and their family. Elizabeth’s mom was going through a delicate health situation, which became a source of inspiration for both the couple and the Momentos team. Their greatest wish was for Elizabeth and Michael to unite their lives alongside their children, making this celebration even more meaningful.
The process was deeply emotional, as everyone cherished each moment knowing how special it was to have her there.
Tragically, Elizabeth’s mom passed away just two weeks after the wedding, but her presence and love were profoundly felt throughout the day. Being part of such personal details and connecting with their emotions made us incredibly honored by their trust.
With such a deeply emotional foundation, we enjoyed every moment of planning. Elizabeth had clear and beautiful ideas for her big day, and guiding them to achieve their vision was thrilling!
The Design of this Intimate Wedding
Elizabeth always envisioned a garden-style wedding, a theme we incorporated into the table settings. The décor drew inspiration from Mexican colors and culture, ensuring the elements complemented the space without overwhelming it. Every detail was intentional, adding purpose to the aesthetics of this micro-wedding.

The ceremony featured floral designs in shades of white and cream, while the reception décor brought a vibrant color palette of orange, cream, yellow, poppy red, and accents of green and gold. The tables stood out with this color scheme, creating an elegant and joyful atmosphere that beautifully reflects Elizabeth and Michael’s personalities.

The I DO
Although we anticipated an incredibly emotional day, the rehearsal dinner the night before was a warm and intimate gathering with their children at a private residence in Los Cabos. The love and closeness were heartwarming, setting the tone for an even more beautiful wedding day.
The big day left us in awe of every detail. The ceremony was held at Encanto Chapel, an extraordinary space for intimate celebrations. The symbolic union included elements of Mexican culture, such as a custom-designed Lazo to symbolize their lifelong bond. Incorporating cultural touches like these is always a fantastic idea!
The ceremony’s soundtrack added to the magic, featuring:
- “I Will Wait” by Hugo Sellerberg for the processional.
- “How Long Will I Love You” for the ring exchange.
- “Our House” for the lazo tradition.
- “Mango Tree” to celebrate their union and for the recessional.
After a fun family photo session and an emotional toast with their children, the reception occurred at the Potting Shed at Flora Farms, one of the most stunning venues with versatile spaces perfect for a micro-wedding.

The signature drinks were a standout feature. Elizabeth chose a lavender martini and a farmartini, while Michael went for a standard and old-fashioned flora. Every detail had a unique and trendy touch, making the celebration very special.
