Planning Josephine and John’s romantic and modern wedding was a wonderful experience. They both distinguished themselves by being very sweet and having incredibly inspiring personalities. From the first Zoom calls to the big day, the support we gave them was unmatched and the highlights of their love story will never be erased from our memory. This romantic and modern laid-back wedding in Los Cabos is all you need to see today.
The Love Story
One day John was talking to a friend about the difficulties of dating when he asked his friend about a cute girl that he had seen on Facebook. John’s friend, Heidi, told him that this cute girl was the cousin of another friend, Christine. This is the part of the story where John’s dating luck changes. Christine, in all her wisdom, told John about the most awesome and even cuter girl that she knew, Josephine.
Josephine eventually agreed to meet John and now here we are several years later. To give John some credit, Josephine was never on Facebook, so he never even had the chance to ask Heidi about her!
We loved this couple’s love story. John proposed on a Hidden Beach in Kauai, and from that moment on we knew their wedding personality was going to be amazing.
The planning of this romantic and modern wedding in Los Cabos
Josephine and John chose Los Cabos for their destination wedding because it is a beautiful location, but also because this place combines the best of Mexican cultural richness and vibe. We focused our inspiration on a classic style but with rich colors. They both wanted to integrate accents that would highlight being in such a lovely corner of the world.
The color palette that we chose together with Josephine and John was led by jewel-toned colors and warm tropical Colors. We sought to create a style through which the wedding would reflect its essence, but also through which they could make their most creative side known.
Josephine from the beginning wanted her wedding to be romantic, but with a modern, colorful, and fun touch.
The view towards paradise was one of the high priorities for both, that’s why we chose Sunset Monalisa’s facilities to bring what they were looking for to reality. This venue, in addition to being one of the most luxurious in Los Cabos, has exceptional views of the beach and the magical sunsets that the destination offers.
We knew from the beginning that this would be the perfect place to witness this wonderful romantic and modern wedding.

The design process
Between touches of blue, orange, and blush we put together the perfect color palette, highlighting the importance of a floral design that would give protea, Josephine’s favorite flower, a stellar place.

One of Josephine and John’s priorities was for all the guests to enjoy a perfect experience at their destination wedding, which is why we paid special attention to all the happenings that accompanied that great day,
We celebrated the rehearsal dinner at Los Tres Gallos restaurant, in San José del Cabo. They chose Thursday, which is “Art Walk”, a day in which all the streets are closed to enjoy the destination’s art scene.
After a delicious dinner, Josephine, John, as well as all the guests, enjoyed a walk inspired by the best of art.
The wedding day started as a magical event. From the getting-ready session for both of us, we realized the magnificent complicity of Josephine and John. Both lived an incredible celebration, a ceremony facing the sea and accompanied by the sound of the waves of Los Cabos, a romantic and modern décor, as well as the company of the most important people for both.
Josephine and John wanted the children to have a special place at their wedding, so we surprised them with some special welcome bags with very funny details so that they would never forget this very special occasion.
Highlights
The ceremony was one of the most special moments. This moment was accompanied by different songs. Processional: “When You Say Nothing At All,” by Ronan Keating; Song for the Bride: “All of Me,” by John Legend; and Recessional: “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” by Guns N’ Roses.
The first dance was very emotional and sounded to the rhythm of “How Long Will I Love You”, by Ellie Goulding.
The best, without a doubt, was the dance shared by John and his daughter. One of our favorite moments.
Since we met Josephine and John we discovered their love for travel, for new experiences, and for food and cocktails. Taking that as inspiration, we wanted the wedding menu to be full of surprises that would conquer the palates of all the guests.
For the rehearsal dinner, at Tres Gallos, they prepared tostadas, shrimp fajitas, Cochinita Pibil, and churros, the best for guests to try some traditional Mexican food delicacies.
For the wedding day menu, they served: coconut shrimp, beef Wellington, tuna taco, Parmesan artichoke, veggies spring rolls, chicken and tomato kebab, as well as lobster bisque, cab braised beef short rib, and tiramisu for dessert.
Every moment of this romantic and modern Los Cabos wedding filled us with love, inspiration, and excitement. We love meeting couples with such a good vibe like Josephine and John, two lovely people with whom we enjoyed designing a magical destination wedding.
