Taylor and Garret are such an original, fun, and interesting couple! They live and work in South Africa, so our first call was at 7 am Los Cabos time via Skype. Both were present at the call, and their beautiful energy and love made me lose any sleep I had left and I got immediately so excited for our future wedding planning process together.
One month before the wedding Taylor and Garret came to Los Cabos so we could do a site inspection and review all the pending items on our wedding to-do list. I was surprised to discover that Garret speaks Spanish to perfection!
Both Taylor and Garret are beautiful from inside and outside and very polite. Both are teachers, they already knew so much about Mexico and were always eager to learn more about our traditions and culture.
They fell in love with Mexico, its food, colors, and friendly people, during their previous travels around our country, so it wasn’t surprising that their destination wedding theme was inspired by Mexico, with lots of colors, casual ambient, and romantic.
The details of their Mexico-inspired casual wedding were influenced by ideas and experiences they had when visiting Mexico before.
At the rehearsal dinner, organized at The Bahia Hotel, the wedding party played the authentic Mexican lottery (including reading the verses from the cards, which was so much fun). They love Mexican candies, so they use them to fill the welcome bags of their wedding guests.
Other details included personalized and handmade maracas and papel picado with their names by Maracas Mexico, and – without them, the Mexican-themed wedding wouldn’t be complete -we organized a lovely mariachi band, to which they danced after the ceremony.

Mexican lottery cards were used later to mark the tables at the wedding reception, we used Mexican green lemons for their place cards, and the mixologist at Hacienda Cocina y Cantina prepared a special margarita just for them.
These were just some of the details we prepared for Taylor and Garret’s casual wedding, and, as you can see from these beautiful photos by Pink Palm Photographers, the wedding looked beautiful!
It was such a pleasure planning Taylor and Garret’s destination wedding, and I can’t wait to greet them again when they return to Los Cabos.
